When we have the idea of what kind of carpet you want, we start creating designs that cater to your taste. We use both techniques, freehand and digital, to render the design. We use specialized rug software for the digital process. For the color combination too, we can use the colors from the sample/ wool pompom that you have or we can provide you with enough samples and ideas for you to choose from.
The process of combing and cleaning the foreign particles so that no fiber is intermingled is called Wool Carding. Both hand or machine carding are used. The wool is then spun by hands or using hand charkha and yarns of desired thickness are made.
The spun wool is then dyed using mainly two processes; pot dyeing and machine dyeing. We use Pot Dyeing Method in which wools are dyed on pots manually to ensure our quality. Professionals are hired to test and mix dyes so that it matches the color combination as decided.
The Tibetan knotting method is often used to weave the carpet. It's woven on a vertical loom made of wood or iron, with two vertical poles joined by a horizontal foundation to keep the loom firm. Yarn balls, scissors, iron rods, levers, comb beaters, and other tools are used to weave.
The woven carpet is then trimmed and washed. Eco-friendly cleaning products are used to clean them. These allow in the maintenance of a good texture and appearance, and also a good shine.
The washed rug is stretched from all the sides to ensure that the size and shape is in proper condition. At this stage, the finishing touches are given to the rugs. We check if something is missing from any stage of the carpet production and also ensure it is up to the mark as per the customer satisfaction before it is shipped.
The carpet is now done and ready to be packaged, transported, and delivered. Jute and plastic are commonly used to cover the carpet. The carpet is then wrapped in plastic and sewn with jute to protect it from harm while shipping.
